Key Facts
15% of Australia’s total land mass can replace the total world oil production.
Land Usage
Where possible, we aim to only use land that has little or no other alternative use. For example, in the Pilbarra project, the land is likely
to be very poor grazing land that has a carrying capacity of approximately one animal per 10 Ha. We will transform this land into high value
cropping land with a high production yield and a high intrinsic value.
To achieve this, we will need to invest heavily in preparing the land for cropping. Therefore even though the land is relatively cheap to purchase,
it will be quite expensive to develop for cropping.
Such a transformation in land use and land values is only possible because we have the technology to produce high value products from what has
previously been low value feedstock. Without this technology, the land would remain underutilized.
